Mesothelioma Priority Setting Partnership

The Mesothelioma Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) brought together people with mesothelioma, their families, carers and the healthcare professionals who treat them to help set priorities for mesothelioma research.

It gave them a chance to say what mesothelioma research would make a difference to them, so that researchers would know what the most important questions around Mesothelioma were.

Formed by the James Lind Alliance and funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the PSP was guided by a steering group of mesothelioma patient charities and clinical groups.

Dame Sally Davies“Mesothelioma research has been identified as an important area.  I’m delighted that the NIHR can support the James Lind Alliance in forming a Priority Setting Partnership to bring together patients, carers and clinicians in this area.  The Priority Setting Partnership process is a tried and tested way for them all to contribute equally to decisions about what the important questions are for Mesothelioma research to address.”
